Flood Damage Expectations During Mitigation

Flood waters can cause a lot of damage. Although the water could look fairly clean it is considered "black water" or "Category 3" water damage. Whether or not it black or grey in color does not determine how much bacteria and other contaminates might be in the water. Therefore, any materials that might be contaminate are removed.

In this home the carpet, pad, and about a foot of drywall needed to be torn out of the home. The tile was able to stay because it is not porous and can be clean and disinfected without having to b removed.
