Warehouse in Glendale is Flooded

Secondary Damage During Warehouse Flood

A broken pipe caused this warehouse to call SERVPRO of Northwest Phoenix/Anthem. The water did some damage to the merchandise in the building but the damaged continued to amount when the boxes started breaking. All the water started evaporating which raised the humidity inside the warehouse. 

Once the cardboard was saturated it lost its structural integrity and would fall off the shelf. The insurance world calls it secondary damage, because it didn't happen during the initial loss. Secondary damage is a consequence of the first damage. The key to mitigating secondary damage is to cleanup the first damage as quickly as possible.
